THIS CONTAINER IS GOING ANYWHERE, WHAT IS INSIDE?
Text taken from the Iwalewa-Homepage:
This is an installation performance, interweaving into the concept of a matatu as a modern-living moving object, which affects behavioural patterns, leaving the significant traces of imagination, dreams, images and reality of humans in their own different environments. the inside outside space experience, is also explored through in colours, silence and sounds.
A question about process of transit are posed throughout the process of the performance.
This work process is developed by Kefa Oiro (choreographer/dancer) from Kenya and Benedetta Reuter (dancer/choreographer) from Italy based in Cologne. The artists gets to share their perspectives in workshops, performances and discourse, which have been stimulated by different contexts during the processes.
The project is a cooperation set as a second phase of A COMMUNITY ARTS EXCHANGE / ENCOURAGING CONTACT BETWEEN ARTISTS AND COMMUNITIES, a cross/cultural exchange process, jointly initiated and developed by Dance Forum_Nairobi and 687_Koln and facilitated by Iwalewa-Haus Bayreuth
In Bayreuth the two artists will integrate students through a workshop series into the process of the installation performance.
